Pattern love..

Inspiration by Nathalie du Pasquier, brilliant artist and one of the original members of the Memphis Group, I had the privilege of visiting her studio in Milan last week where she also showed a new collaboration with fashion brand American Apparel.

Moroso

There was a lot of new sofas with round soft shapes in tones of red and pinks being presented at the furniture fair in Milan last week. One of my favourites was this significant modular one by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso.

T.S. News

Tomorrow my dear talented friend Therese Sennerholt launches two completely new collections, one with snapshots from her daily life and one with her significant quotes on Swedish handmade enamel signs from Skillinge Emalj.
Here is a sneakpeek of the photos made by me and Pia Ulin.

My Milan 2014

Normally I never post my own pictures but it has almost become tradition to make a summary from Milan Design Week here on the blog with my own snapshots..so here we go again. 2014 Milan Design Week from my Iphone starting off with wine lunch in the sun at 10 Corso Como.
This year they had two exhibitions at 10 Corso Como, one with the fantastic artist Kris Ruhs who is the brain behind their amazing decoration and graphic design and upstairs they showed photographer Charlotte Perriand.
Galleria Vittorio Emanuele and Rosanna Orlandis private office, amazing as always..
Spazio Rosanna Orlandi showed Embrodery on Eames Aluminium chair and a Nica Zupanc exhibition.
Nendo did a great exhibition in collaboration with COS, upstairs he showed a fantastic new store concept and downstairs he was showing his selected works in miniatures.
I always like when there is some kind of interaction on the exhibitions. Nendos rubber bowls had a fan that maked them move showing how soft they were.
And on another one of my favourite exhibitions the Swiss Design school Ecal presented an exhibition called "Delirious Home" with interacting, clever humoristic and brilliant design.
Goodies from Tortona, and Moooi..same concept as last year with giant photoprints as back drops but this year by photographer Massimo Listri.
Paris based favourite shop Merci poped up again in Tortona.
Faye and her sister Erica Toogood had an exhibition at Project B Gallery where they showed their new furniture collection Roly-Poly and their irrestistable coats (..and I am now the happy owner of an "Oil Rigger").
Next door there was the amazing Marmoreal room by Max Lamb.
No big news but Boffi delivered as always.

Two steady Milan design favourites, the toilets at the Pelota hall and the graphic identity of 10 Corso Como by Kris Ruhs.
Disegno launched the new issue of the magazine in the amazing studio of Nathalie Du Pasquier and Sowden.
Rosanna Orlandi curated an exhibition at the museum Bagatti Valsecchi with a fantastic contrast between the dark old museum and innovative new design.

Starstruck in the studio of Vico Magistretti.
A favourite at design week was Gubi and Gam Fratesi in another fantastic old palace.
Piero Lissoni and Living Divani showed outdoor furniture in the beautiful Orto Botanico..
..and nearby Hermès showed a luxury djungel in an old palace.
Lambrate was a bit disappointing to me this year but the crazy creativity is somehow always inspiring anyway..
Last but not least my all time favourite this year was Dimore. Love!
